Quite possibly my least favourite RTD script. You're going to have this theme about Jackson Lake still living up to the title of The Doctor and yet he doesn't get the honour of flying his own TARDIS or even get to save his own son. Infuriatingly squandered story.

The Runaway Bride - 10/10
Donna's best episode. She's SO abrasive, but so human. Her little "but I love you," to Lance gets me every time. Just a wonderful script - the motorway chase scene is amazing, Sarah Parish is devouring as the Racnoss. So funny, with a dash of heartbreak.

Easy to take for granted how good this needed to be, both to introduce Ten and secure the xmas slot. And they've never quite landed the tone as well ever since. Holding him back was risky, but works. Great start to Rose's coming-of-age arc.

I need to make one from scratch myself. I grew up with oxo cubes and I just can’t shake that kind of crunchy “what even IS that” feeling.
