Last Christmas I gave you my heart, and, here’s the thing, I know it’s the very next day, but I’m going to have to ask for it back. The thing is, it was more of a metaphorical gesture. I didn’t expect you to take it literally. Medically, I need it to live. I hope you understand.

For me, it's about context, implication, and reference. A tiny story needs to expand in the mind of the reader.
With all due respect to my ultra-short short fiction writers, how the fuck do you write anything shorter than 500 words? That's like, a twenty-skeet thread. But with plot and characters and ideas and stuff! I can barely keep my short stories under 10k!
