Alright, the interplay between them is a bit clunky (can't launch Rider from Godot) but I've got Rider and Godot running with dotnet in a distrobox.
It's possible I might not actually need the distrobox but it seems to be the popular method of doing it.

If I put detergent in the tray and then forget to put the washing machine on it drains away somewhere but doesn't end up in the drum when I come back and hour later and correct my mistake ...

One of the reasons for pushing my linux install forward from "vaguely over the holiday season" was I wanted to start new projects but didn't wanna disrupt them by reinstalling my computer.

Space Engineers 2 has done the same thing but for extra hilarity has bound the mouse into the top left quarter of the screen, guess where the settings button is ...

It'd be cool if the "increasing the cost of motoring hurts poor people" people cared anything like as much about cost to people who rely on public transport - who are disproportionately likely to be poor and disabled, and who consistently face far greater increases in cost.
