Now, these kids get the full package — refurbished donated bikes, new helmets, bright lights, secure locks, and 12 hours of hands-on instruction to help them ride confidently and safely. 3/5

Several staff and volunteers had the chance to check out a new trail today with some incredible kids in the Earn-A-Bike program, through a partnership between BWorks and the International Institute of St. Louis.

In this example, one helmet was donated by a generous supporter who bought it “on sale” for $40. The other was purchased with donated funds, but because we can buy wholesale, we paid just $15 for the exact same helmet. 🧵🪡

The clouds didn't keep this fourth-grade crew from making the most of the mild fall temps during Earn-A-Bike Day 3 at school today. Even when a BWorks lesson is off bike (like today's safety discussions and helmet decorating), we love getting kids outdoors as much a possible -- and they love it too!

No aurora here in Soulard - just bright lights, a few empty water bottles, big smiles, and kids learning to ride after dark! Every pedal forward is a little victory over fear and a big step toward freedom. Thanks to everyone who helps us keep the glow going!

Each kid had a vision: laying down rainbows, dragons and flames, bikes for icy streets, or ones built to carry special friends. The ideas were wild, colorful, and entirely their own.

Meanwhile, our Humboldt crew got more practice on their chosen bikes during aftercare, and our City Garden Montessori #bikebus was rolling again, with 49(!) K-8 students joining Wednesday’s guided ride to school.
