My wife insists on me knowing other bits too. In fact she's not even that concerned about me knowing her elbows.

To be fair, some of us learned about female anatomy from inflatable dolls. Which was already an eye-opener, after our sisters' Barbies.

(What's that gurgling sound? Is it all my Lit cred vanishing down the drain?)

I didn't know it at the time, but I'm a terrible introvert. All I knew was that I was constantly exhausted and dreaded having to see anyone when I got home.

For me, it's bliss now. I get to see who I want, when I want. Except my wife, and I generally want to see her all the time.

I gave up commuting nearly 25 years ago and started working from home. The daily struggle wasn't worth it, nor sharing germs with fellow commuters all winter. I've barely had a bad cold since.

If it's any comfort - about the writing, if not the commute - I sympathise whenever I see you post.

Yup - and it becomes all the more horrific if it immediately follows an erotic scene. Get those readers all confused and weirded out!

I honestly think people get too worked up about thing like this. Lit's been quite happy to publish my darker stories. It's one of those things that people build up in their mind as a huge no-no, without really understanding what the rule is supposed to achieve: don't sexualise murder. Simple.

I have one where a woman stabs a man in his groin as he's jerking off above her. I don't think there was any controversy at all - at least nobody's complained about it. I suppose it helps that the entire story is grimdark fantasy.

It's possible that someone might report your story if they think it's inappropriate and then the site will pull it. I don't think that it will matter who you put forward as character witnesses: all you can do is convince Laurel that it doesn't break the rules.

I have at least one kill on Lit that's far more explicit, and far closer to the sex, and it's never been a problem.

That said, I like how Bazzle handled this one. It's a far better fit for the story and the mood than a detailed explanation would be.

Sure you can say 1M readers - they must have read at least the first few words before noping out in disgust!

Congrats on this massive milestone!

Gorgeous! Where is it?

I'd do it in the general Authors' Hangout. It will attract more views there, and perhaps get people interested who wouldn't otherwise be.

Or start it in Audio, then link to it in a separate thread in the general AH. But that seems a bit roundabout.

You should be fine. Laurel hasn't updated the official list yet, so just pick a period when there aren't too many other events happening and suggest it.

It might be a good idea to start a separate thread as well, to see whether there's a viable interest. Check the dedicated audio forum as well.

Competitions are organised by the site. You could send Laurel a DM with your suggestion, but I doubt anything will happen just now. There seems to be too much going on behind the scenes.

But you could suggest an author-organised event. Check out this thread:

2026 Literotica Competitions and Author-Organized Events
Hi everyone - I was thinking perhaps we could self-organize the author-driven events for 2026 ahead of time and put together an overall calender for Laurel to make it easier for her - she has a lot on...

Hey, we don't bite! Although some of the regulars might nibble.

To answer your question: I think audio stories were excluded from the last two contests.

(I seem to remember someone posting earlier in the year that all three winners for a particular contest were audios, so maybe that's why.)

Doesn't the book call Adam a "creature" throughout? As in, "something that's created"? You know, because Man playing God is the theme of the story.

You never know, it could be a Christmas miracle!

Good luck in the contest!

Brave souls like Malduin and Saint Brendan have ventured out there, returning with tales of wonder, of cheeseburgers and ten-gallon hats and other fanciful notions.

As a professional editor: the three "hads" (one contracted) is clumsy. Either delete the "she'd had", or change "had been" to "was".

Suggestion: "Her only variety had been..." or "Her variety had been limited to..." Depending really on the rest of the text.
