I was intrigued to find out what Dynasty sounded like. Don’t recall that one at all. It came in at 20 and had gone the following week. It appears to be a Chic kind of deal.

Here’s Gary, straight in at 15. 46 years ago last week. Eek.

None of this really matters when you grow up. All that stuff is bullshit in the end. Yeah, you can be cool with a new or cult band, but so what?
I once saw CMAT do I Wanna Be a Cowboy, Baby in front of maybe 50 people, but I got a far higger thrill hearing it tonight in front of 4,000 at Brixton.

Okay, boppers. It’s @cmatbaby.bsky.social time. There’s never a bad time to have a good time, but blimey, the County Meath two step is going to banish some proper shite this eventide

Quick reminder from Smash Hits of things, or thangs we didn't need in 1981, or indeed now. Message ends.

Have you made it to the Lowry? Strongly recommend a trip there, if not.

Sad to hear of the death of Jimmy Cliff. The Harder They Come was the classic gateway to him in my youth, visions of us spotty teen herberts assembling to stick it on via the massive, top-loading Ferguson Videostar and cheer on Ivan’s exploits

Though Syd can’t be with us today, she would have wanted us to tell you about that time we made her sit here when there were about 10 comfy chairs or settees knocking about. #caturday

My word. What a band. What a gig. Something very, very special about these lads.
Reg, we’re only dancing.

Quentin Blake rules.
Here’s Beatrix Potter’s ‘lost’ Kitty-In-Boots, or as she prefers to be known herself, ‘Miss Catherine St Quentin’. Pics from the excellent Lowry exhibition, Quentin Blake and Me, which runs until 4 January.

Good luck! Channel the spirit of Joe Jordan, if not his Pooh jeans. Was lucky enough to cross his path for United work, very helpful guy - and a big favourite at Pompey as well.

This sixth-form essay on the BBC from 1985 has aged rather better than me.

No-one would have believed in the last years of the 20th century that a secondhand vinyl copy of War of the Worlds would set you back £25 in 2025. Ooh, la.
