I'd love to chat with you about building healthier, more productive workplace and community cultures.
Civilizations are made of cultures. Cultures are made of people. And people are made of nervous systems trying to feel safe.

Humans are essentially a nervous system piloting a bio-mech life support system. Happy Saturday!

If Back to the Future came out today, Marty would travel back to 1995 and forward to 2055.

ABA says, "you are not valued, respected, or safe as your fully authentic self," and that is why Autistic people oppose it.

A day or two ago, some new things appeared on the Windows lock screen. Weather, news, etc. Completely out of the blue. Microsoft did not ask for permission. It did not seek my consent. And they provided no easy mechanism to remove them. 1/3

The answer to, "Why are things like this?" isn't satisfying because it forces us to move beyond demonization to empathy.

It’s a natural part of human psychology to downplay threat with, “It’s not that bad. It’ll be okay. It’ll all work out.” This soothes the scared parts of us by avoiding discomfort, but it also postpones the action needed to address the threat. 1/2

We've got to stop calling them "elites". Because it turns out they're not really elite at anything except exploitation.

One of the patterns I've noticed is that western cultures really, REALLY like assigning morality to other people and their behaviors.

(Other cultures may too, but I'm not informed enough to speak on them.)

Change takes sacrifice. If no one is willing to sacrifice, to be even temporarily uncomfortable, then nothing is going to change.

Behaviorism leads to external compliance but internal dysregulation.

Co-regulation builds long-term emotional resilience.

I don't know what it's going to take to shake them out of their stupor, but the message to elected Dems has to be "Resist, Resign, or Be Replaced". We need leaders who can and will meet this crisis.

What we think is "human nature" is often just unhealed #trauma on a civilizational scale.

Folks were asking which MoCs did make the commitment on the spot. Celebrate these leaders!
Sen. Warren
Sen. Van Hollen
Rep. Waters
Rep. Pallone
Rep. Pressley
Rep. Cleaver
Rep. Beatty
Rep. Velázquez
Rep. Ansari
Rep. Foster
Rep. Simon
Rep. Amo
Rep. Meeks
Rep. Balint
Rep. Magaziner
Rep. Raskin
Only one Rep, Brad Sherman, declined to commit on the spot. He said he'd have to see the bill. The crowd didn't like that. They chanted back "WITHHOLD YOUR VOTE." If Sherman comes over to our side, we should welcome him. But until he does, I hope he gets the same question from his constituents.

The only languages they speak are money and labor. That is how we must communicate our discontent.

I mean, has anyone called Dr. House? MacGyver? The A-Team (if you can find them)? The Power Rangers? X-Men? Agent Coulson? Matlock? Monk? James Bond? Jason Bourne? John Wick? Harry Callahan? The Nebuchadnezzar? Inigo Montoya? Wonder Woman? The Avengers? Batman? Superman? Spiderman?...

I'm tired of seeing elected officials on social media like, "Who are my elected officials!? They should do something!"
Two weeks in, and it’s already painfully clear that this is the most corrupt administration in history, and it’s putting our economy, government, and most at-risk communities in serious jeopardy.

Personally, I've been struggling to find my inner Fred Rogers in this season. My inner John Wick on the other hand...

"...a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power."

The only people who seem to not understand what is happening in America is Americans.

It seems that the only voice we have left, and the only language they understand, is with our pocketbooks and our labor. Want to hit them strong and fast? That's how. And I know the community solidarity isn't there, but we're also running out of time. #NationalStrike

Dear MAGA: Hurting other people isn't going to make your life better because the ones you're hurting aren't the ones who made it worse.
