I have an extra USB-Cord on my desk I keep plugging into my devices, the problem? It's the one cord on my desk not plugged into any power.

I was playing some Christmas songs on my piano in my office last night while my three year old was playing with my desk. of course my apple watch unlocks my mac while my he is playing with my keyboard, so all sorts of interesting 'code' to undo this morning when I started work :)

Dear friends, I'm rejoining Redis. It's a long story, so it deserved a blog post to explain all the details: antirez.com/news/144

I switched to a new keyboard about 10 days ago, then I immediately went to re:invent so this is really only my second day using it.

The weirdest thing is actually having the cmd and option buttons in the right place!

I do like the copilot integration for rider / intellij, one comment though, and this might not be something fixable atm, it would be nice if the copilot auto-complete also did the imports for you (like the regular autocomplete does).

Packing for re:invent, first time traveling alone in a couple of years, have to say it's nice that now my laptop/phone/gaming console/kindle all use the same charger. Only need a lighting for my airpods and the charger for my Apple watch, so 3 chargers, not so bad (2 if I upgraded my airpods)

My 3 year old has preschooler wipe clean book (basically a book with basic skills and a dry erase marker)

It seems odd to me that “dry erase” markers are much harder to read once they dry 🤔

I got a new keyboard today (keychron Q1 Max), I like it a lot, but as my fingers get used to it, I have to say that the typos have been much worse today than normal.

usually, when an #oss contributor opens a PR to a project I maintain without tests, I just write them myself. The contributor's given up enough of their time, and if I don't understand their contribution enough to write the tests. . . I shouldn't be merging it anyway.

Social media is in desperate need of innovation. Meta is only letting you have a slice of control over what you see because Bluesky is here building for you.
We wrote on Saturday about how Meta is going all-out to meet the threat of Bluesky: wapo.st/3OrYxBj

Today they took another step— finally allowing users to set their default feeds to a chronological “following” feed.

Debugging a bug in Redis OM #python last week. I encountered this odd situation where the defaults for child classes using pydantic v2 models were being ignored, and instead was defaulting to the type we use to intercept lambda's for forming queries to Redis. I found a workaround, but this feels 1/
