Bro AI is gonna do that no prob

These people are the equivalent of little kids being stupefied by birthday party magicians, but much less cute

That's a lot to expect from the average person. Not only will a lot of them be starting without the tools to be critical, but they won't want to take the time to be critical, either.

So, net-bad from my perspective. But people will cling to the potential upside as though it's the default outcome.

I suppose a crucial factor is that the learner needs to start with a solid foundation so they can be critical of what they find and/or what the AI outputs.

For example, using AI like a fuzzing mechanism to aggregate ideas and test them, and digging through search results and cross-examining them

I was thinking the same thing. I have a feeling it's a similar situation where you can argue that they're both good for learning, but the reality is that it takes a certain kind of person to use search engines or AI constructively... I believe those people are exceptional rather than typical, though

On my death bed I think I'll remember laughing at Calvin and Hobbes with my 8 year old then passing out cuddling. Fucking peak life experience. But also a hapless blunder. Keep your wits about you

When people are like 'lol I use my phone when I watch Netflix I'm so adhd' this kind of stuff flashes past my eyes. Including things like struggling with basic stuff like paying bills or showering when I intended. But yeah, Netflix and phone time, imagine that. ADHD sure is crazy

Many years ago there was talk of fractional payments or some such, where you pay for stuff in real time (or get paid). Insurance and some other industries hated this because of this exact reason. It would suddenly level apparent costs with alternatives.

big what

I love it. How long did it take to put this together? Do you have any recorded outputs yet?
November 15, 2025 at 3:47 AM
Whooaaaa cool! I want to know more!
November 14, 2025 at 11:54 PM
Don't worry, there are at least 8000 of them

It often reads to me as though the documentation writer is trying to convince themselves it's true and that they understand what they're talking about. And your points are entirely correct too. It's bad form all around

Well, I hope the cool and wet weather arrives soon for you. I often miss the luxury of not needing to care what the weather does.

That's the only way we make anything better. Keep trying and cultivating hope. Kids need it

I don't mean to make it sound like these conditions are normal because of the warm air from Hawaii (the pineapple express); it's unseasonably comfortable outside even now, and frankly it's a little unnerving at times. I'd really like to be cold soon.

I was over on the central coast of British Columbia in 16 degree weather last week. It was so strange. Heavy winds, a bit of rain, and yet totally comfortably bombing around on the normally frigid Pacific waves.

In our case it was a pineapple express. What's keeping the UK toasty this November?

I didn't get a great shot, but here's a waterfall at the entrance to one of our decommissioned watershed sites this morning. The camera doesn't do it justice. It's somewhere close to a 10m drop and it just roars

It's such an incredible place. Here's another watershed on Hecate, and some Otters just around the bend before we got there

I need to read this

Where were you?
