Access journalism is already a cancer. This is something worse than cancer.
Michael Wolff tried to buy New York Mag — with money from Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein.

So Wolff didn't just have a reporter-source relationship with Epstein. Nor was Wolff his informal PR adviser. They saw each other as potential business partners.

Featured story: Texas workers have long struggled with wage theft and the state’s willingness and ability to crack down on scofflaw employers has been relatively minimal. Now, rates of suspected wage theft are increasing, and the state labor law enforcement system is straining to keep up.

We are facing what can only be described as a Situation
Q: "Why are White House officials…meeting with Rep. Boebert in an effort to try to get her to not sign this petition calling for the release of the [Epstein] files?"

Leavitt: "I'm not going to detail conversations that took place in the situation room."

The specific claims of the QAnon movement almost invariably were unfounded. But their big picture narrative — that a global pedophile cabal has captured the United States government — might have a sliver of truth to it, except not in the way they thought.

Really nice investigative work from Monacelli of the Texas Observer.

Note "courtroom observation": the reporter sat in on his trials, noted the times he appeared to be typing on his phone, and watched his tweets appear in real time.
REVEALED: we identified the operator of an overtly racist X account, "GlomarResponder," as ICE Assistant Chief Counsel James Rodden, based on an overwhelming number of biographical details matched through publicly available documents, other social media activity, and courtroom observation.

This point absolutely correct and I will add that Mamdani demonstrates that an insurgency, even one with real moral clarity and anger at the status quo, can still be cheerful and inviting.
