Note: I'm on PC where monitors generally just work. I've not used a desktop Mac in 12 years.

Unless you need color calibration (good luck) monitors are basically the same now-- except Samsung large, curved monitors are prone to total failure and to be avoided. I have unis from Dell, Asus, AOC, Scepter, Acer, LG, and HP and they're all fine. Choose your specs and pick best price.
