Used to say to my bf, white male academic who works at the same place as me, the admin should say outright, we only hire able-bodied, straight white guys. They'll grudgingly hire minorities to force them out of their positions as soon as they start, then say, see. That's why we shouldn't hire them.

If I remember correctly he was taken into a neighboring room and immediately beaten by Iraqi security. Bush and the others could hear it as the press conference continued.

Hate to sound like a baby but I had not one, not two but four mentors who behaved like this (I don't even want to get into the details). I did leave the field. They were Chemistry profs. I had enough going on and it was a lot.

It's not even "aid" when you consider how much the West takes out (and has taken out) of Africa. Russia and China are profiting from rare minerals. They need to pitch in and help, not just send mercenaries and greedy businessmen.
