Threaten one of the most bio-diverse and ecologically sensitive coastal regions in the world, sounds like a sound policy. The pipeline is merely a fraction of the risk from this project! Adding on top of it not imposing climate action targets is the extra dagger in the side.

I haven't really noticed the cost of food increase but now that I see the $33 price tag on my large coffee tin I buy regularly, that inflationary number has sunk in ☕🫣

I truly hope @wgreaves.bsky.social that you emphatically share this fact with your colleagues. Those of us living on the Sunshine Coast, Haida Gwaii or Vancouver Island especially get it as we cross large bodies of water to get to where we call home. It's not just pipelines, its tanker traffic too.

While seemingly simple to take the LRT, in my opinion is this is a big deal in Calgary where when conditions are bad from snow the usual clout is that you have a big 4x4. Good on ya Mayor 👍

Well done to staff and excited to have it back in operation downtown

Tonight is the start of enduring this process for us at council. There was a vote that I didn't support to bring endless small cuts to the table that don't meaningfully impact taxation in the hunt for an unrealistic low "target" increase ceiling.

Very happy for you to have this moment in a year that has been very scary, sad and dark so far. Hopefully it is the first light at the end of the tunnel with many more to come.

Well done Cowtown

To add to this though, scooters absolutely have to be "geo-fenced" with the app forced parking spots. I like that to end the usage charge it has to be parked in designated zone. @bikebikeyyc.bsky.social says their downtown e-share doesn't have this & is a nightmare, makes the service look sloppy.

I was convinced on how good Lime e-scooters are with how they connect the Sky Train to final destinations in Richmond. I can sail on Hullo Ferry from the island, jump on the train & then grab a scooter to easily reach the Olympic Oval. I have a sports retailer show here I attend 2x/yr. No Car Needed

Hopefully the bike share program is making strides in letting new riders experience what is possible. Also @cycleinnanaimo.bsky.social will hopefully be gaining momentum in their advocacy for the benefit of all residents.

I also noticed the amazing spike in major high density housing projects on Wallace Street downtown, that would surely lean towards an increase in active transportation necessity. Then tie the Old Quarter into that with the spike in housing development on 3rd St tying VIU & JinglePot parks to it all.
