Got a burst of ideas while taking a break from finals projects and cooked a little on one of the Strategist's skill trees. So it's sneak peak time!
For reference, the strategist is kind of the dedicated support class that's more focused on utility than combat.

![Checkmate
The battlefield is your board and everyone on it are pieces in your game. At the start of combat, all your allies are assigned the role of Pawns. Each successful action roll grants them 1 point of Merit. At 8 points, that player is promoted to a new role of their choice, granting buffs based on the role until the end of combat.
Bishop: This ally gains a +1 Effect Bonus to powers they use. When regaining AE at the start of your turn, you gain an additional [GRIT] AE.
Knight: This ally gains a +1 Attack Bonus on their first martial attack each turn. They can move through (but not end their turn in) any occupied space without expending additional movement.
Rook: This ally gains a +1 Block Bonus. When using the Intercept reaction, you may move adjacent to the ally you wish to Intercept for if they are within Burst 8.
These bonuses increase to +2 at CR4 and +3 at CR7.
At the start of each of your turns, you may choose to take on the role of either King or Queen:
King: Each time you are targeted by a hostile action, you may move [GRIT] spaces. At the start of each of your turns, gain [GRIT]*[Number Of Allies Within Burst 8].
Queen: Your speed is increased by [GRIT]. Gunslingers are masters of cinderarms and, with precise timing and concentration, are able to weave aether into their weapons to give themselves an edge. Each time you reload a cinderarm, roll a D6; on a 5+, gain 1 Tempo and choose one of the following effects to apply to that magazine:
Overcharged Rounds: Infuse your ammo/battery with volatile aether. Your next 2[GRIT] attacks with this weapon have a ++1 Damage Bonus.
Paracausal Magazine: You borrow ammo from an alternate timeline version of yourself, loading 2[GRIT] additional rounds (up to double the weapon’s capacity). This ammo is returned to that timeline when all loaded ammo is expended or the next time you reload the weapon.
Risky Reload: You attempt to hastily (and stylishly) reload your weapon. Refund the Stamina spent to reload the weapon; however, on a 3-, the reload fails and the weapon is jammed.

The explosion deals additional damage equal to your GRIT.
