- Dead coral shifts reef chemistry, making regrowth harder.
- Tourism and fishing economies take a direct hit.

Totally get the frustration, but I’d add that sponsorships like this are exactly why we need stronger guardrails on corporate involvement in science outreach. Without them, “educational” events risk becoming PR platforms.
