You cannot ask somebody to adopt a whole cultural system in order to experience new states of consciousness, but you can help them to build their own "world". Put simply, I'm interested in future video games, or virtual worlds, tailored to help develop useful states of consciousness.

But I agree with you, there is no evidence that these "natural" techniques are safer that "technological ones" and they are certainly les efficient in many situations. They remain interesting to study, anyway, something valuable may come out of them

Well, I see things differently. I think in fact the most important thing is "the context". You connect your mind to a virtual/imaginary world, and imagination is in fact doing the trick: this is the really "active" part of the technique. Ritual is the important thing /1
