Horrifying.
Trigger warning.

“In crashes, SUVs are more likely to strike vital organs in the core of adults’ bodies & heads of children. Hitting pedestrians above their center of gravity means they’re more likely to be knocked forward & down and then be driven over.”

Plus more likely to hit in the 1st place.

Absolutely.
This is a good article, worth reading.

Gigantic SUVs are a public health threat. Why don’t we treat them like one?

The anti-smoking playbook is worth studying and learning from, and is completely applicable to oversized cars.

Let’s not pretend that for most people, owning a car isn’t anything other than a lifestyle choice. By all means own a car, but don’t pretend you really “need” it; and go lightly, in full awareness of the impact of your choice on the people around you.

It’s the upside down. Again.
“I’ll declare war on you if you don’t give me the peace prize” is an incredible bit

Not a “potential” conflict of interest. Pretty clearly an ACTUAL conflict of interest. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-09...

Maddening.
The Australian Government's (bad) excuse for more gas?
So that the world will use less coal...🤨

So why is the Australian Government...also approving new coal mines!?

The iconography of this is right on brand (as well as being completely inept and unprofessional) - it’s that Broadway showtunes vibe that they are all falling over themselves to impress their master with. Hard to decide whether to laugh or cry.

Article 54 of the 1977 Geneva Convention Protocol I.

1. Starvation of civilians as a method of warfare is prohibited.

Exactly.
never seen a more basic morality test than what's happening in Gaza. are you for carpet bombing kids or are you against it. are you for systemically starving ppl or are you against it. if you can't draw the line at that, why should I expect you to draw the line at anything else.

The Age is really going all in on pro-genocide www.theage.com.au/politics/vic.... Why do they think we are protesting?
Sunday’s Gaza protest a glaring example of tone-deaf intransigence
Following violent antisemitic incidents in Melbourne on Friday, protest leaders should have cancelled Sunday’s demonstration.

Trump only wants what’s good for Trump. If war is good for Trump, then it’s war. If peace is good for Trump … there are plenty of useful idiots who’d argue otherwise - we’ll see the pretzels they contort themselves into now he’s no longer the Peace President. It’s sickening and disgusting.

This should be happening everywhere. Cycle freedom!
Remember this? “Paris voters opted in a referendum to close 500 more city streets to cars, making way for pedestrians, bikers & greenery. The plan…will expand on a green push by Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social that has already seen 300 streets planted and cleared of cars since 2020.”

It’s absolutely disgraceful that this precious site is going to be destroyed by a project approved by the newly elected Labor government. Do they think this what people voted for? Let them know by all means necessary that this project must be halted.
Murujuga is one of Australia's most precious heritage sites.

But it's being slowly destroyed by gas industry emissons.
