In Funny Games(1997) the character Paul turns to the camera and breaks the fourth wall multiple times during the movie. By addressing the audience, Director Michael Haneke forces the viewer to acknowledge their complicity in the characters brutality and take responsibility for their desensitization.

Played through one of the nsfw games they gave away on GOG to protest the censorship. It was pretty bad, but my favorite part was when the devs were clearly so proud of a lighting transition that they added the option for you to repeat it over and over so you can appreciate it.
