Bottom Line: This should all be subject to democratic regulation. The people have a right to be informed and make laws about this to protect the public interest. Supporting immediate AI regulation and keeping out of the military should be a litmus test for every political candidate.

AI drones have been capable of choosing their own human targets and making the kill decision autonomously for several years now. www.npr.org/2021/06/01/1...

There is a lack of serious debate & engagement. The tech elite is nihilistic, careless, and child like. When I think of responsible AI use I think of Asimov's Five Laws to protect human life and ensure technology serves humanity. That's not part of the conversation. It's already being militarized.

This is entirely new. This is unlike anything humans have ever made before. A human like super intelligence feasting on all of the content humans have ever made throughout 10,000 years recorded human history on Earth, from cave paintings to Skrillex. This is a revolution that will change everything

A few years ago Elon and Stephen Hawking were warning an AI super intelligence could cause rhe extinction of humanity. Now Elon and other elites are working to integrate it into every single aspect of our lives. Automation as a long term job grower might have hit a point of diminishing returns.

You can tell technology and appearance is important. Individuals and institutions want to appear forward looking, competitive, up to date, etc. But sometimes the emperor has no clothes. That's how we get bubbles and election losses to people like trump. The elite are clueless.

Unlike the early Internet where anyone could host a website and share information, AI is NOT democratized. AI energy needs are so massive only the wealthiest corporations can afford to own the server farms needed for a compelling AI service to emerge from that huge infrastructure; moral hazard.
