Weirdly, the one I *do* own makes me feel uncomfortable to be seen in. It just attracts a LOT of attention at stoplights and gas stations and such. I know that sounds horribly ungrateful, but there it is. 🤷♂️

I put 25mm spacers on my MX-6 when I installed the Miata wheels, but they have a crazy high offset (ET55) and it was just to recenter things. I certainly wouldn't go nuts like on that 964—and it looks like the wheels are STILL tucked. 😬

Yes indeed. Such a fine line between stunning and hideous. The S3 OTS sits right on the knife edge, but the 2+2 tips over completely into breathtakingly ugly. The windshield rake, the distended profile, the nasty-looking "saucer" wheels... 🤢 Besides hideous, it just looks cheap—which is maybe worse.

Loved this article extolling the virtues of the S3 E-Type. I will say it managed to kind of rehabilitate it in my mind; I had always dismissed it ("new wine shoved in an old bottle" as the article aptly put it).
Still wouldn't drive a FHC 2+2, though. 😅 OTS is the way.

It's basically a paint can with about 1/2" of mineral oil inside and a wick at the bottom. The wick connects via cables to the car battery, and you hook up an air compressor at a very low setting to blow through it.
