Scrambling to disentangle from Meta properties, after yesterday's nonsense.

This account will be for my spandex sewing/costume blog.

@celebrationgen.bsky.social will be for food stuff & recipes from all four of my food blogs.

@2nerdsinatruck.bsky.social is my RV camping blog, with my husband.
1) Well I haven't been sewing, because my tendons haven't been great lately.*

But hey, I've got a sewing- adjacent post to share.

Gandalf has been giving us big dramatic guilt trips over taking her Christmas tree down this week.

She's too fat to fit under the couch anymore...

Just realized it's been almost exactly two months since I started a project that would make for a really cool tutorial ... and promptly hit a massive tendon flare through my left arm.

Kinda makes sewing spandex ... well, impossible.

So, hello!

This account has been mostly dormant, partly because I'm still working on transitioning off X and Meta platforms, and partially because my arm tendons haven't been great lately.

Just say no to Cipro, LOL!

Anyway, wanted to pop on and say I've got more tutorials coming soon!

I shared Mark Zuckerberg's WILD video about censorship to my personal Facebook account.

This happened minutes later.

Literally none of those rules apply, btw.

Popped back into Twitter for a minute, to see a dumpster fire of Americans cheering about defunding the WHO.

I really hope that they don't come to find the answer to their "Why should the USA fund it?" question the hard way.

Well, this is super fun.

I had 60k+ tweets, so I had to pay for a plugin/app and it was a big hassle to delete all of them, but I did. I posted a single tweet to say I was done and moved to BS.

Today, I see that a bunch of my old tweets are back up.

WTAF.

Wondering if it's happened to others

I will never understand how so many people are so completely unable to recognize really bad AI when they see it.

Like are we at the point where masses of people are actively, completely detached from reality, or...?

(Yes, this post is about more than the AI)

Anyone happen to have a suggestion for a song (not high energy!) that's good at knocking out at a before-bed ear worm, without starting a NEW ear worm?

Hoping The Nylons' "Up on the Roof" does the trick, would love a backup plan!

I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.

I spent my childhood behind barbed wire. My parents lost everything. 1/

Well, it's over. Nuked all the content on my Twitter account.

So... Here are some pretty photos from this morning's sunrise.

Maybe it was symbolic.

Damn, I wish I'd known that Twitter was going to make things difficult, when it comes to leaving the app.

So far I've paid out to 5 different apps trying to get a CSV of all 60k tweets, and to mass delete them.

I've got 470 deleted so far.

Oof.

It's interesting to me that the people most likely to disown friends and family over being gay - citing "moral values" - are STILL having wild tantrums when they end up disowned over ... Moral values.

My concept of time has been getting more unhinged since the start of the pandemic.

I've gone from "I don't know what day it is anymore" to "Every day in the last week has been super long" / "HOW has it been almost a week?", simultaneous.

Feels like several weeks, but also like it was yesterday.

Shortly after I joined Twitter, I made a TARDIS cake for Wil Wheaton that got featured at W00tstock.

My Twitter feed absolutely blossomed with a ton of lovely geeks, some of whom are good friends to this day.

It was so EASY - especially where I'm basically feral when it comes to social skills.

I think I'm just a little cranky about having been on Twitter for FIFTEEN YEARS, only for that idiot and his fandom to ruin it.

I'm way too autistic AND old to easily walk away from that kind of commitment/familiarity.

Ugh.

So, looks like it's time to dust off this account and figure out how to use it.

If you've added me from Twitter and I haven't followed back yet, say hi?

(And lemme know who you are, if it isn't obvious!)

I have no idea what they were going for, but the Crimestoppers commercials where they're singing about reporting people for stealing shampoo and diapers - to the tune of Christmas carols - to "keep the prices low"?

Absolutely dystopian, on multiple levels.

Random thought: I wonder if unmasked professors teach about Semmelweis with a straight face?

Or do they still have enough self awareness to just skip that part of history?

After almost 15 years on Twitter, it's SUPER daunting to start all over again.

Is #ActuallyAutistic Blue Sky a thing?

Who are the best sources for Covid news?

Would love recommendations!
