We have an immediate need for an RPG proofreader. This is a paid gig, proofing just over 11,000 words. Experience is preferred.

Please email [email protected] with your resume and rate. If you don't have a set rate that's fine - we can talk.

Please feel free to share, tag and recommend.

Did everyone enjoy Dragonmeet? What was everyone's opinions on the new venue?

I hope everyone has a great time at Dragonmeet. Hopefully, I'll be there next year.

Just got an email that the dnduktweetup email address is no longer recoverable as it hasn't been used on such a long time. We had some good times at those 🙂

Okay, let's heal the rift with some gentle humour:

How many Labour MPs does it take to change a light bulb?

Two. One to change the lightbulb, the other to ask Nigel Farage if he needs anything else doing around Number 10 before he moves in.

I like how in this day and age of unrelenting technology that the way we get on a bus is to stick your arm out to let the driver know you want them to pick you up.

If you use the new Affinity, you may also want to go to your profile on Canva and turn off a variety of settings so that they don't train AI with your usage:
www.canva.com/settings/pri...
and
www.canva.com/settings/ai
They've announced that Affinity is now free, except for generative AI tools which are walled behind a Canva subscription. Which seems really good:
www.affinity.studio

Like "You can eat anything from the garden, but if you'd like to sample the wares from underneath the outhouse... that'll cost ya"
Affinity (which offers alternatives to photoshop and indesign) has turned off the ability to buy their software on their website.

They're touting some big reveal at the end of the month, though shutting off sales of their product for a month is... an interesting choice.

Was gonna post about how I've had a good week for the first time in months but then the doctor phoned to say there might be a problem with the chemo I'm having. So they have said to pause the treatment while they do some more tests to make sure it is safe to continue. *sighs*

As of this morning, I am halfway through my chemo treatment! Still feels like a long way to go, but it feels good to have reached that milestone.

One thing I miss because of the chemo tablets, is cooking for myself. Which is strange as it wasn't something I particularly loved when I had the energy to do it. But I'd love to cook for myself properly right now.

I've had another idea for a game - Guillotine meets deck building. Not been this excited by a game idea for quite a while.

In preparation for switching the heating on soon, I dusted my radiators. My god, it was like they were wearing coats 😯

Despite the chemo tablets making in-person gaming impractical, I'm still managing to play board games online. Last night played with two of the guys from local gaming club. Tonight, I'm gaming with colleagues. Makes me feel less isolated.

"We want people to be living in mixed communities, don't we?"

Robert Jenrick's home is in Eye, Herefordshire, where 165 out of 166 residents were white at the time of the last census.
Wow. Robert Jenrick doubles down by branding a black journalist's questions "ridiculous" and saying that the problem is not his comments, but "journalists like you who pop up and try to knock me down", adding that "this is the reason why terrorist attacks happen". ~AA

Badenoch is the most compelling of the current party leaders because of the gulf between who she believes herself to be (she visibly thinks she is a bold thinker) and the reality (incredibly lazy and partisan).

My friend Emily asks a TTRPG question I'd love to know the answer to
Does anyone else get this? Like for a little while you ARE your character, and you can kind of call them back up in times of need? Like a past life?

New Post: I Have the Power. Where I discuss how the players will take actions, level up their characters and personal stories. 10 minutes read.
I Have The Power
Photo by Johannes Plenio on Pexels.com So far I have talked about what the board game is going to be played on, and the mechanisms of who the game is being played against. Now it is time to talk about how the players play the game. Each player will take control of a single character from the fake 90s Sci-fi TV show called Spaceship 47.

First dose of chemo tablets after one week off. I forget how horrible they taste.

I entered a card game I've been designing into a board game competition yesterday. I assume I won't be successful, as there are people that will have been entering for years who'd probably know better what judges want, but it was good to have something to do while I was ill and I enjoyed doing it.
