Sietch Tabr…

I love the harsh sunlight streaming down through slits in the cave ceiling high above. It’s such a smart and natural way to light the environment while also allowing the edges of the frame to fall off into blackness.

Hard to believe it's been since Dune in 2021 that we've seen Oscar Isaac in a live-action film role. Such a great performance. I'm excited to see him again in Frankenstein later this year. Welcome back, Mr. Isaac.

Experiencing Dune: Part Two in the theater again yesterday reminded me how insane the sound is. Sound design Oscar incoming.

Happy #LetterboxdFriday Time for another #LastFourWatched

Two Dune films nominated for Best Picture, and still no Best Director nomination for Denis Villeneuve. It’s not just an oversight anymore. It’s a criminal snub.

Seen some discussion on here about directors and their signature shots, and it got me thinking. There’s nothing Denis Villeneuve loves more than a viewfinder POV shot!

Here’s a meme I’ve stolen for your Wednesday. It’s deeply stupid, but it makes me laugh.

“in simple a knife fight”
January 9, 2025 at 5:37 PM
May thy knife chip and shatter…

I love the symmetry of both Dune films ending in simple a knife fight, though they couldn’t be more different in how they’re executed and what they represent for Paul.

Brion Tomb, designed by Carlo Scarpa-

Such an insanely beautiful location that fits the aesthetic of Villeneuve's Dune so well. I only wish we had gotten a few more scenes here.

Got my money out of AMC A list this year! (especially taking into account that I saw Dune: Part Two 14 times)
