My rule of thumb is that any illness that's:
- invisible
- chronic
- unpredictable
- hard to test
- culturally new
- requires employer adjustments, and /or
- welfare support

Will be attacked as illegitimate by conservatives.
Claim's of "over-diagnosis" are tactic a of delegitimation.

On a purely factual point, Trevor Phillips’s column in the Times misrepresents our reporting in casting doubts on claims that there were more boys called Patel than Smith at Dulwich in 1980 (we did not report 1976 as the year it occurred). 1980 roll shows 13 Patels and 12 Smiths.

His salary for this weekly column was reported to be a cool mill a year, meaning this complaint about people asking for too much earned him £19k.
A constant blazing terror that somewhere, somebody might be getting a free cheese sandwich. Or indeed brief use of a wheelchair.

Absolutely no honest self-analysis whatsoever of what will happen when you spend a year solid telling social liberals to fuck off. Surprise surprise! They fuck off! It's nothing to do with them being 'unserious' - this government just spends quite a lot of its time telling them it hates them!
It really does feel like a lot of the people currently in government never really asked themselves why many of their own supporters went for Corbyn in the first place and, similarly, are unwilling to ask the same question of Polanski's success.

It's a self-revealing kind of ignorance.

It is an absolutely delightful irony that the richest man in the world is universally acknowledged to be a huge fucking loser who not a single living person envies in any way at all
Remember folks: if you have any small amount of artistic talent, any sex appeal, or can make your friends laugh, the richest man on earth is crying screaming throwing up because he can’t be you.

The fact ideologically driven adults are able to participate remotely in a child's journey with their identity is disgusting. Empowering random adults to question their gender while they are developing is the opposite of emotional safety and care

it's one of the few consolations that these people cannot force people to like them. all the lawsuits they want, everyone hates them and their works and they can't get away from it. the best they can hope for is to be endured.

The WI has been trans inclusive since the 70s, before I was born. Do you see who in this scenario was innocently minding their own business, coming to their own arrangements locally? Do you see who is forcefully imposing themselves and their demands upon others, via threats.

Wes Streeting orders review of mental health diagnoses as benefit claims soar
Health secretary has asked experts to investigate whether normal feelings have become ‘over-pathologised’ The health secretary, Wes Streeting, has ordered a clinical review of the diagnosis of mental health conditions, according to reports. Streeting is understood to be concerned about a sharp rise in the number of people making sickness benefits claims because of diagnoses for mental illness, autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the Times reported. He has asked leading experts to investigate whether normal feelings have become “over-pathologised”, the newspaper said, as he seeks to grapple with the 4.4 million working-age people now claiming sickness or incapacity benefit. The figure has risen by 1.2 million since 2019, while the number of 16 to 34-year-olds off work with long-term sickness because of a mental health condition is said to have grown rapidly in the same period. Streeting told the Times he knew from “personal experience how devastating it can be for people who face poor mental health, have ADHD or autism and can’t get a diagnosis or the right support”. He added: “I also know, from speaking to clinicians, how the diagnosis of these conditions is sharply rising. “We must look at this through a strictly clinical lens to get an evidence-based understanding of what we know, what we don’t know, and what these patterns tell us about our mental health system, autism and ADHD services. “That’s the only way we can ensure everyone gets timely access to accurate diagnosis and effective support.” The review, which is expected to be launched on Thursday, is set to be led by Prof Peter Fonagy, a clinical psychologist at University College London specialising in child mental health, with Sir Simon Wessely, a former president of the Royal College of Psychiatry, acting as vice-chair. Like MAGA, transphobes have gotten everything they wanted in 2025. And, like MAGA, they've never been more vitriolic toward the institutions they've captured, more disgusted by their wounded victims, more ready to plough forth into realms of cruelty that even they would have balked at a year ago.

These evil, spiteful ghouls thought they’d score an awesome Supreme Court victory and then society would salute their bravery, and rise up to enforce their fucknut politics. That hasn’t happened and it won’t happen, so now society will be *forced* to comply in a blizzard of squillionaire litigation.

If your choice is between an existential risk to your organisation, vs being a fascist collaborator, and you make the difficult choice to be a collaborator...

...then you are still a collaborator.
Like, I'm sorry the fascists are giving you difficult choices. But that's what fascists fucking do. The only legit answer is "fuck you make me". The only answer that shows you have actual fucking principles not preferences is "fuck you make me". And that sucks. But here we are.

The biggest con in contemporary politics is Gender-Conservatives calling trans women perverts and rapists while constantly, and I mean constantly innovating new ways to sexually harass us on a mass scale.
