Just because the hour glass is almost empty doesn't mean that you have to be too.
Well yike, when confronted with the reality that life's prime directive was first distributed to the human race rather recently, we go kinda bananas. "Oh no! Microscopic problem solvers solved a problem!"

As a CS major, I don't think most folks really understand the difference between what's actually useful in the field and what's a crackshot idea that thrives off of theft...and I think the general disposition towards hatred on it is warranted and good.

General AI is a fokin dumpster if the peak loudest parts of humanity come from the dumpster. If you wanted it to have a viable use, you'd have to violate the privacy of the most brilliant minds on the planet.

Don't feel things, let us replace abstract work for you so it'll no longer have a death grip on our profit margins whenever we decide to make short term "business decisions" that everyone hates.

You can't buy abstract work. Providing a healthy work environment that actually treats people with dignity pays back dividends. Short sighted finance bros aren't looking to do business, they're automatons seeking the highest reward in the shortest amount of time with the least effort.

I think the biggest irony is that they would promote it but never drive it while it remains continually unsafe. Why give the people what they want, right? Just the right kind of accident that solves so many problems...

What built the west? Other people's stuff.

I guess the still doesn't leave much room for nuance but when you put it in the context of the current political climate in how the people who Jesus wouldve been cracking whips at are using his name to get votes makes this woman's decision a statistically viable way to survive.
