CAN bus seems to be differential so could work well on a twisted pair, and according to e2e.ti.com/support/inte... the impedance mismatch is somewhat within tolerance depending on your termination.

We would still have those little bars on our keyboard but everything would work and you could just fix it with View Codes! (Still used by US lawyers for this reason.. )
