My mother had polio as an infant in 1921, she lived with fused feet and ankles, I was lucky,some issues, had a pretty normal life (in terms of polio effects). I think the 1st shots did better than the later sugar cubes with live virus. No matter what vaccines do save! The book Polio is good read.
