Please don't ask me why, but I saw Douglas Murray giving a speech at a Prager U event and pretty much the first thing he did was blast tucker carlson and nick fuentes. This is becoming a BIG issue for them.

Ukrainians are fighting for the right to take out the trash, good for them.

To be slightly fair to Caesar, the Senate wanted him to come back alone because they were going to kill him.

I didn't realize waymo was already so big in Atlanta. I knew they had launched but I didn't appreciate the scale.

Very insightful, thanks!

What ever happened with that Greenland thing? I guess everyone just completely forgot about it, huh?

What do you make of this uncharacteristic strengthening behavior?

NVDA may be propping up the S&P, but if NVDA falls it's probably because of rotation into some other megacaps and the index as a whole doesn't blink.

I'm a lot more positive on the US EV industry than you, and the biggest forcing function for innovation is the unbelievably high standards the American driver has for EV performance. It's way harder to build an EV that can compete in America, and I think both Tesla and GM are doing good work.
November 26, 2025 at 3:59 PM
Do you live in a county where BYDs are sold?
November 26, 2025 at 3:43 PM
Tesla has absolutely lost ground in the industry. The Koreans and Germans, however, are every bit as good as the best of the best Chinese carmakers, across the board including price/performance.
November 26, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Two coworkers rented a BYD PHEV for work and it had a technical fault on the highway and suddenly throttled them down to 30 km/h, which could easily have caused an accident. In Nyland's testing, BYDs failed the 1000km challenge more than any other manufacturer.

If your question is "do I own a Chinese EV", the answer is no. I only closely follow product testing and attend car shows for work and see them on the street and ride in Chinese taxis and talk to drivers about their experience. I can assure North American residents that you're not missing out.
November 26, 2025 at 3:35 PM
There are two facts demostrated by the testing which are not widely appreciated by the general public:

1. Chinese manufacturers exaggerate performance features almost universally. Geely Group is the exception.

2. Chinese cars tend to have surprisingly poor efficiency. This one is a puzzle.
November 26, 2025 at 3:32 PM
This is not a matter of personal opinion. There are hundreds of direct product tests on every conceivable performance metric you could possibly want from the excellent Bjorn Nyland. Go nuts: www.youtube.com/@bjornnyland...

A LOT of the economic anxiety of the upper middle class stems from the mysterious insistence on private school.

The calculations relied on assuming childcare costs are equivalent to housing, as if kids need daycare until they're 18 or something.

And some of them are hot trash, and the vast majority are basically middling. The Chinese do not have some kind of space alien technology, nor have they suspended the laws of economics. They're just cars. The hype is out of touch with reality.
November 26, 2025 at 7:56 AM
They're pretty common here in Germany. They're not magic, they're just cars. Some good, some bad, mostly middle of the road.
November 25, 2025 at 9:51 PM
Chinese cars are not exactly overflowing with either of those characteristics.

They are largely middling, some outstanding, some awful. They aren't even very cheap outside of the home market.
