the assumption in that thread that the peacocks would simply not stray off of their owner's five acres is hysterically funny to me, but i do think that's a big difference between TN and TX — TX I'm sure has vast privately owned spaces that might function as a reserve of sorts. TN does not!

Tennessee is much more forested! But the climates are similar and our geopolitical histories are practically parallel, not that that matters to peacocks. That thread you found has some INTERESTING PEACOCKS! My peacock was crossing the road with its fan entirely spread, which added to the wonder.

back in the day there was some fairly convincing fandom explanation that this was somehow related to bjyx but i cannot for the life of me remember what it was and it was probably as convoluted and improbable as whatever was actually happening in his brain anyway lol

i love this idea that species common to australia would naturally find their way across the pacific and then halfway across the continent to take up residence in the deep south. i think kangaroos would probably enjoy it here. koalas too. definitely dingos.
