In general, you can also pose hair (esp with splatoon lol), fingers and clothes.
If you wanna practice for fun, you can try replicating splatoon victory poses lol even in the middle of their animations

Look up "line of action drawing" or gesture drawing.
Basically it's like planning a character's pose with at first, a curved stick figure.
And think of negative space: if a limb or object has a bunch empty space around it, it'll be easier to see if it were surround by other details.
