Depression came for me hard in 2022, and it ebbs & flows with me holding tight to whatever I can in the undertow. When it gets bad, I hold onto these moments. I try to remind myself I’m building something that’s beyond me, and it matters. I matter. I’m very glad I’m still here to experience this.

It’s been 1 full year in this space at 70 Arthur St. and I’m still so totally in love. Every moment I get to spend here I’m eternally grateful. Shout out to my studio mates & all the folks who routinely come over to enjoy the place, quietly or loudly.

Writing has been tough for me since having a kiddo, but somehow this novel that I’m very close to finishing has felt breezy & wonderful—almost as if having a space completely outside the home has helped immensely?? PS I cut myself some bangs yesterday & they survived the 15km bike ride in.

Making art is better than worrying about it being perfect and making no art—and then turning to the AI trash machine like several local businesses to show they don’t mind us being exploited.
