What is your idea of “vibey stuff?”

I want to see lobbying of politicians, protests, mutual-aid networks, narrative shifting work, active corporate networks, legal cases… the lot. I want it all. We all should.

It’s unhelpful to dismiss any part of this ecosystem as unimportant or ineffective. It’s a waste of energy.

There are plenty of places in the ecosystem I would not personally throw my own effort behind. But that doesn’t mean I don’t respect it has a place.

They’re not necessarily coordinated. There is often tension between efforts. But things change because all sorts of people are applying all sorts of pressure across as an ecosystem. Change becomes inevitable.

I mean also the discourse around it all remains exhausting doesn’t it? The logical cold strategist emerges with sword and game board… But the soft squidgy human who feels? Yeah, that’s screaming into a void.

I guess throw some money toward Good Law Project and make a hot water bottle ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I do think there’s a clear contradiction between how the government is currently pursing ‘care’ for Trans+ youth and the promise for a trans-inclusive conversion practices ban.

And that’s why everything is stalled.

Actions like this through Council of Europe maintain pressure for a reckoning.

We have Labour MPs in the Labour Party fighting for us and working to persuade their colleagues to better positions too.

We’re right to be angry at the government. But focus the anger in the right places if you want that anger to be effective. Otherwise screaming into a pillow might be for you.
