The one-man developer of Sequence Break - The Proof of Survival... and very little else, for now at least!
Try it out (runs on Windows and Linux): http://slightly-sleepy-studios.itch.io/sequence-break
Progress has slowed down a lot on my game, but only because I'm trying to get more important things moving along in my life.

What I will give away is this - A test render that'll act as my rotoscope base for an art style I plan to shift into later on.

Just going to put in a quick word here about the new Valve hardware that was dropped literally while I was sleeping

Controller mk.2: Maybe
Machine mk.2: YES
Frame: Huh?

You know, some days, you forget that you're working within some comically small resolution limits... YOUR GRU GANG RISE UP!

(For the record, this was supposed to say "Your Girl!" Lmao)

To all the animators who feel like they’ve been snubbed because the new Coke ad was all AI generated - um… I really don’t have much of a team or budget at all, so I can’t ask for help, but just know there will always be people who truly appreciate the human touch in any kind of medium, ads or not!

Oh my god some fucking tech dingdong posted this on Twitter with the caption "AI games are going to be amazing" totally seriously, you have to watch it. You have to. In full screen.

I've got a few hours left before I'm technically back, but I wanted to quickly ask: Would you guys want me to release a bug fix version of my Proof of Concept (which would remove a few secrets!) or would you want to wait until I get the next part of my game made, and everything stays as-is for now?

Time for the most terrifying part of a pre-release workflow... bug fixes.

The PR, the announcements and even the upload of the game? Easy! Trying to find as many bugs to quash before release as possible? Not so easy.

Watch this space: I'm closing in on my next build of Sequence Break! This build will be adding two new areas to the game, turning my "Proof of Survival" into a proper Proof of Concept.

Should be out within the next few days. Stay tuned! #IndieDev #SoloDev #GameDev #AdventureGameStudio

Be careful not to replay your failures in your head like a broken record.
Once you’ve learned the lesson, move on. Don’t let one rough launch live rent-free in your mind for months.

POV: You're here, but mentally you're somewhere else.

(Unintended bug I stumbled upon during play testing after moving my dev environment - I apparently forgot to check all cutscenes with my new portrait system! This is #art, I don't care!)

You ever realize that you made a fatal error in your project's disaster recovery and wasted a whole day getting that fixed up when your Dev environment's move should have been a one hour job?

Yeah... yeah, that was my day today lol #IndieDev #SoloDev #GameDev

"4-of-a-kind! Read 'em and weep, boys!"
"Not so fast, bub!"
"What is it, doll-face?"
"Royal Flush, dirtbag."
[May or may not have been toned down for BlueSky, heh...]

A Scene from a security camera system, coming to my game in the next build.

Sharing something I found via Discord. Literally was two seconds away from giving up all my creative works before I saw this in my chats this morning.

(NOTE: I do not watch Gintama, but I DID forget all about Scatman John)
(NOTE 2: Supposedly unedited? Citation needed.)

While I’m busy with other things, a few things in the currently available build of Sequence Break you may have missed. (1/3)

You ever get a random, hyper-localized joke stuck in your head? This is mine for today: “My mom’s homemade brownies are made with chocolate IMPORTED… FROM EDMONTON.”

(From a TV show set in Moose Jaw, found in Canada. The trip from there to Edmonton is about same as going from New York to Miami)

A Question of Character
(Digital Rotoscope, done in my hour before lunchtime)

Don't mind me, brainstorming some character design ideas

A thing people don't warn you about when making a story that's been on your mind for decades is that you end up learning something profound about yourself. Though one should take a break to reflect on that kernel of truth, it's one more way you know your story has to be told.

Making the final few room images for my next build of the game took longer than I'd like to admit, but it's done! Now, uh... for a few more incidental minigame images and then it'll be ready to go live! #SoloDev #IndieDev

Lovely, after I sorted out the Procreate update mess, now I'm having to look for alternatives for Affinity's apps because it's looking highly likely they're taking away my buy once licenses and make no mention of their new app or pricing, meaning it's probably a subscription now. fml

Radio silence? Yeah, but only because I decided to put too much on my plate all at once ^^’

BUT, I have been working on refining the visuals for my rooms - as much as my current style “works”, I do wish I had a proper room render to rotoscope off of - the proportions here are way off 🤣
