The call for “Real Zero” is very important as it focuses on achieving real emission reductions as opposed to using offsets. In Australia, allowing industry to use of offsets looks likely to undermine any real action that might otherwise come out of the safeguard mechanism.

Cripes. This deserves wide circulation. Large US case-control study of recently diagnosed lung cancer finds smokers who also vape have 4x rate of lung cancer. On-going dual use (smoking + vaping) is VERY common .. often >50% of those who vape.

We adapt social media tracking as platforms come and go or become places for research comms. We also track a bunch of other pretty interesting metrics like policy, news, Wikipedia and patents. So hopefully it wouldn’t be *completely* meaningless!
