I JUST THINK TO ASSUME WUKONG WOULD'VE BEEN A HORRIBLE PARENT IS KIND OF A DISSERVICE TO HIS CHARACTER. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE MK IS A MONKEY. AND HE IS THE MONKEY KING WHO'S WHOLE DEAL IS ESSENTIALLY TAKING CARE OF AND PROTECTING THE MONKEYS.

his concept art also has them, but that's just concept art so that only holds so much footing
i don't think he has super hearing in lmk though. i think at most it's just sensitive hearing (so loud sounds only hurt, like in benched). i feel like they'd have utilized super hearing by now otherwise

he does actually have them!! they just don't usually draw them out (i'm guessing because it's harder to animate?)
his official ref has them (seems they abandoned close-ups showcasing them) and in a small handful of shots they do draw the lines in his ears that are Supposed to represent them
