okay apparently there was a report of shots fired at an apartment building across the street from me and seemingly half of LAPD has responded… and there are like 30 cops just standing around in a parking lot now, clearly doing nothing

uhhh this actually reminds me a lot of how LLMs function at a basic level too - predicting tokens based on proximity & context, etc 😬 ...so we're teaching kids to read like AI & saying AI level is good enough

yes but on the other hand i got a second monitor today and it did not come with any screws to attach to my VESA mount arm that used to have a laptop tray on it (which only used two screws) and it took 30 secs to find two more of the right screw in my Infinite Bag of Will Be Useful Someday Parts
