Game 1
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. After many false starts over the years I finally succeeded at making a concerted effort to beat it.

It's not my favourite Zelda but I enjoyed my time and I'm so glad I finally saw it through! It really was the start of Zelda as we knew it for so long.

Deaths 1 - 36 1: minotaur in dungeon 2: jumped out a window 3: caught, accused of being a spy, beheaded 4: spike trap 5: jumped out a different window (wanted to see if I could) 6: trapped chest - cut down by shards and fell, bashing head into bed post 7: mandragora screams 8: bumped armour and knocked halberd on self 9: fell down well and made a great impact 10: killed by guards 11: too greedy 12: hopped out castle window 13: greed again, same place, different time 14: dilly-dallied grabbing stuff, got eaten by dire wolves 15: leapt like an eagle off a cliff, didn't fall like one 16: jumped out tower window, foolishly 17: leaned out a different window in tower and fell 18: guess what? Beyond Shadowgate finished! I counted 84 deaths, so I must have forgot to record some. I got 71 unique deaths. Majority of them were deliberate.

My playtime was more spread out more than I intended but I had a great time. I'm so glad I've now played the three macventures and this :D

Several options when you introduce yourself to King Andre! The Goodsoup option varies on what you chose with Griswold Goodsoup... which is another place at that.

Caught thieving from the castle treasury in Beyond Shadowgate. There's a shelf with various riches and a pile of gold on the floor. Narration: As you await your trial, an adage about things coming full circle repeatedly runs through your mind. It's quite obnoxious.

Did it!! If I was playing the original with the time/turn limit I'd have been so dead XD. I had a couple of hints but I avoided outright walkthrough use (and I already knew of the cursed ruby so avoided that too) I definitely enjoyed that more than Deja Vu which feels even more boring in comparison
