You can only tick a box moving to the right, and if you get into the 4th category you're at risk of dying. The first tick in every category is easy to replenish, but the third tick in every category is difficult to recover. I'm explaining it poorly but I think it's a really interesting system

Not sure if this is separate enough, but Fight to Survive by James Kerr uses 4 groups of 3 checkboxes. When you take damage, you tick the leftmost box, but next hit you take, you can either do the 2nd square in the first category or the 1st square in the second category
