Metrics are showing that this improved framerate across all graphics settings and Apple Silicon hardware by an average of 30%+ 🙂

This is pretty awesome because we're seeing people dial up their graphics settings (enabling shadows, etc.) and still get a big FPS boost.

Still looking for some proposals here --this can be a paid gig. I'll be more broadly posting this on contracting sites --but with SL it's usually better to engage with contributors already familiar with the requirements.

Conan + modern cmake is a leading contender but we're open to alternatives.

Our goal is not to eliminate all differences between viewers --that's where Second Life's third party viewers shine-- but just to get the official viewer up to par with the most widely adopted differences between it and most other viewers: legacy search, LookAt privacy, etc.

This will also help all users speak the same user-experience "language." Right now if a new user joins using the official viewer major differences in UX between viewers make it difficult for others to help them learn to use the platform.
