Not sure if I've said it previously, but there's no hard in repeating, the SU-Cream Pencil for CSP has really become my workhorse brush. It's all over any of my painterly work and my sketches. It's almost all I used in my Realis work. Love this thing and it's free.

Miracle. The scar of the Bontive Valley. The final #Palisade post card is a collaboration between myself and @badbucket.bsky.social. We traded sketches back and forth to land on the comp. I painted the environment, Conner did the ships, the finishing touches, the typography etc. #friendsatthetable
Two synthetic beings look up from the scar of the Bontive Vallet, filled with shards of Crusade's glass weapons. They gaze out over the valley between great stone formations at the encroaching Twilight Mirage swirling in secondary colours. From the clouds 3 ships burst forth, creating a circular void in the clouds in their wake. The image is treated with clean typography that frames it. VT Lin amd Ter Tirhan are the listed authors. The title spans the horizon line. Miracle, it reads. The same painting as previous, but with the typography removed.

As with the other postcards for the Divine Principality factions, the back was the jewel case of the tape it came on. This was the last tape back I did. Not too much to note on this one, but I'm proud of how all the tape backs came together. Not something I thought I would be good at.

The fifth #Palisade postcard I did for #FriendsAtTheTable, and the final one I was the sole artist for was creating this posed candid military photo for a propagandistic military biography of Lucia Whitestar and her flagship, Lander 1.
A fake book-on-tape for a military biography of Lucia Whitestar from Palisade, called Operation Lowlander. A framed photograph of Lucia Whitestar in uniform, talking to her logistics guy, pointed at a paper map. Behind her troops march, officers talk on short wave radio. Cranes load. It is a sunlit hangar, and Lander 1, a brick of a ship, looms over the whole scene. Its shaped like a fish that carries bombs and it reflects a moiree pattern off its carbon steel hull. It dwarfs everything in the hangar, which is already a massive megastructure.

A post-disaster world of weird little lizard guys just trying to get through the day.

Three little reptilian guys careen through the air with urban detritus. A car, a bin, a power line to which one clings desperately. Behind them in the clouds a colossal serpent whips through the sky, it's fleshy triangular mouth opens, eyelessly, towards them. In dusty scrublands, hundreds of sheep are guided by several reptilian shepherds. In the distance hulking, rusty spaceship parts are crashed into the landscape. In slowly overgrowing concrete lot, next to junkyard shanty, beneath the boughs of a massive tree, some little guys are playing footie. With gusto, the most prominently featured reptilian child kicks the ball towards the camera, causing shockwaves of dust. Other children react with joy, anger, confusion. A little lizard person kayaks through turquoise water and mangrove swamp growing in the decaying ruins of a city.

Finally get to hold @amithompson.bsky.social's book in my hands. I have wanted this for years as an avid follower of her oc work. It is so so pretty. It features a multi page sequence that was my longest yea boi ever. Holy shit. What an art book! Knight yuri forever.

Some of the most fun I had doing #FriendsAtTheTable postcards for #Palisade came from coming up with this medieval calendar with @notquitereal.bsky.social, where The Paint Shop did a historical/cultural back-fill on the Fabreal Duchy as part of The Adagio. Loved revisiting The Saints, too.
An illustration in the style of a medieval calendar, depicting an early version of The Divine Calendar from Friends at the Table's Divine Cycle. It features a big knight-like mech leading a strange parade, carrying a banner with the editor (fictional)'s name on it. The calendar is bordered with constellations, and above it are depictions of different rites on the calendar. A banner reads: Old Tales of The Dukes. Above that are depictions of fictional proverbs, also illustrated like medieval paintings.

Coming back with yet another #Palisade Post Card for #FriendsAtTheTable. My 3rd card of 6 was centered on The Figure in Concrete & The Broken Spoke, framed as one of many Alise Breka novels. The pulp novel framing, here, was designed by @badbucket.bsky.social, and was used on multiple cards.
The Figure in Concrete stands on a rocky outcrop. Russian Sage grows out of the rock and out of the Figure's body. The rock and the figure's belly are pierced by great rusted chains. The figure is breaking of the of the chains, sparks flying. Behind them stands a mech carrying an upright glaive. Their shield is massive. It's shadows are purple. In the pastel sky is shattering glass, The Witch in glass smiles on the left side of the glaive, the Devil's Two Front Teeth on the right. Chimera's Lantern is lit. The previous image is inset into a weathered pulp novel cover template. The title reads "Phyrric Shale" and it is by Alise Breka. A quote below reads "Tears falling on stone." It is home printed my RadiantAngel, the label reads.

Like the last one, the back of this postcard was the jewel case of the tape. Once again, I love making the design esotera on these and given that I was working with Conner, the absolute master of that kind of design, I really wanted to make sure I was able to deliver on it.

I'm back with this week's #Palisade #friendsatthetable post card, this time looking at the propaganda book-on-tape we built for the Frontier Syndicate, Exenchester March, City City and The Alter, intended to ape a sort of Randian art-deco aesthetic of self-aggrandizing, evil entrepreneurs.
On a beige background that imitates a mountain valley is a strange construction of futuristic nonsense buildings. On one reads the words "City City. Atop buildings stand 2 toyetic mechs of the same model. Behind the city is a profile of that same mech from the chest up. Behind the city on the left is a figure in a techwear suit with a head like a motorola razor and a halo of gold. Below on the right reads the title of this fictional audio book "Endeavor: Or, A Man For Himself, A Man For Us All.

I have been given the go-ahead to begin sharing #friendsatthetable #Palisade post-card work. While I work on my website updating it with that project, I'll be trickling those out. Aiming for 1/week.

These are in-universe propaganda books-on-tape. This ones designed around Gentian's Swordbearers.

It was Wonder Project J, which I didn't realize had such great cover art. I could not figure this shit out as a teenager. I sucked at it and gave up, but always thought it was cool.

In a sea of darkness, underlit by eerie green, a greencloaked figure kneels in the ripples. They offer a long sheperd's crook and glowling ball of greenish liquid to the lilac hands in front of them.
