and to be clear, i don’t think protesting mandated culls is appropriate. culls happen to prevent the spread of infectious disease. this is a protective measure. those ostriches should have been dealt with a year ago, and they would have been if the owners had complied with the law.

are you also protesting the culls of flocks of chickens all throughout BC? chickens have much higher cognitive function than ostriches. chickens form emotional bonds, are capable of problem solving and have an incredible long term memory for their brain size. some of those chickens are healthy 🙊

so many people are convinced that the farm has never sold their birds for meat because the farm claims that they’re “beloved pets”. meanwhile i know people who have bought ostrich meat from them. to eat. for FOOOOD! if you even mention this they will block you from the group. it’s insanity
