I have spent the last three days prototyping an idea and this what I have so far. I am gong to put ShoNiMals on hiatus for the next little bit while I flesh out this idea in hopes that making Borough will lead to the ability to get ShoNiMals made.

I’m calling it Borough.

I’d struggled to find an idea I was passionate about—until a few days ago, after watching an urban planning video. That’s when it clicked: a small-scale city builder focused on a single borough, emphasising community and the cozy satisfaction of building up a living, breathing neighbourhood.

Since it’s my first game, I don’t yet qualify for many Canadian tax credits and grants that would help me achieve the quality I want. To become eligible for funding, I need a smaller published project first.

ShoNiMals isn’t technically complex, but it demands a lot of content—meaning time and money.
