When Saints were on that mad unbeaten run he said “I’m here until someone decides ‘this guy is too mental to manage this football club any more’”, and that’s more or less what happened (altho he was set up to fail, bless him).

Yeah there’s a certain subtlety to it in that Martin is fucking mad but sort of knows it, whereas all the people he’s having to deal with are even madder, and completely deluded.

Russell Martin is a left-leaning vegan hippy, who has somehow managed to end up managing Rangers, a Scottish club with a strong British nationalist, unionist current in its fanbase. They scored a late winner today and instead of celebrating their fans chanted "MARTIN, GET TAE FUCK".
