I've yet to play The Roottrees are Dead and Verho (it's been an extraordinarily busy year), but I bought both at launch because I think it's a class act to just hire talent, and that's something that should be rewarded.
My advice to any developers dabbling with AI is simple, just remove it.👍

None of this AI slop is inevitable, and far from having to get used to it, it's been incredibly encouraging to see developers actively remove it from their games. Turns out it's as ephemeral as a fart in an elevator, everyone hates it and wants to get off, but it's gone after a short while.

I thoroughly reject that generative AI is something we are going to have to accept, it's simply not going to be true even in the wildest dreams of AI evangelists, and we have plenty of examples of games where AI generated elements were removed, so we know for a fact it can be done successfully.

One of the reasons I've never bought into AI doomerism, is that to believe "it's here to stay, get used to it!" you have to buy into the idea that AI generated elements are so hardcoded or integral as to be permanent, when they really aren't.
You can simply remove it, and it's gone just like that.
