But you can wash your hands after touching the tongs, you can't wash the pastry or whatever it is.

It may require observation. I suspect there are people who consider hygiene less than you...

...say "Jury's can't handle the complexity" and before you know it, there is no jury ever
December 3, 2025 at 10:59 PM
That feels like an inefficiency that could be better managed. Can some other judgy admin be done while awaiting the jury? Or.. if it is, then it doesn't matter that the jury is debating.

Feels like you move the simple stuff the judges... Then when the complex stuff is the only stuff..

I'm pretty sure they can use a number of suitable reasons:
- National Security
- Opinion is not fact. Only factual information is FOI able I'm sure I was once told
- Not in the public interest

This is a preprint. Preprints are an invite for feedback and discussion. It feels like this is the ideal opportunity to make sure LLMs are implemented appropriately.

You say this. But clearly Santa gets his naughty list from someone...
December 3, 2025 at 6:07 AM
Santa is not a government service. Therefore not subject to the FOI Act

Well it's news because there is this one guy left in the UK who hasn't seen a single episode and if he wanted to watch it he might need to know that it's his last chance...

The QR code on their own wrist feels like a half decent starting point!!

Nothing would stop that being possible. I'm sure I've seen an EPR that had a patient linked app

Of course making the info intelligible for display on a phone might be a challenge.

It's just as well Tesco don't charge £11 for adding some VAT to my breakfast cereal.

£11 🙂‍↔️ - the NHS pays a community pharmacy £1.46 to dispense a medicine. Neither makes sense

Why does a jury trial take longer?

I bet we are all shocked to hear this...

Ew = New

(Need edit buttons)
December 2, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Is this permission for all. Ew medicines to cost 25% more?

It's not nuts that the threshold should move. But if we exclude as many treatments and just pay more what's the benefit

I'm a massive fan of TaxTopia by @RebelAccountant...

But to do the kind of Tax overhaul needed is too radical for current government to consider.
November 15, 2025 at 8:55 AM
Oh. You could completely recreate the tax system instead!!

The reality is people know you need to increase some form of tax to pay for change, they just want it to be "fairer" (aka - as long as you tax someone else more).
November 15, 2025 at 8:55 AM
But there were two reasons to say no to tax rises.

1. People don't like having to hand over money

2. They made it a manifesto policy

So, I may not want council tax changes instead, but if that's not a manifesto promise it may be a more acceptable way...
November 15, 2025 at 7:45 AM
Yeah. But would you prefer someone who tells you that up front or someone who tells you they won't and then does.

Although I suspect there is a bit of "it's not as bad as people predicted" going on. . .
