The fact that perpetrators of domestic violence exploit legal systems against their victims has been documented in the research literature. But I do not believe it has been documented well-enough, nor do I believe that it is a phenomenon well-known to the public. I believe this should change.

I have always believed in the truth. I learned, through recovery from other gendered violence--rape as a teenager--that the truth really does set one free. To live in a world without truth is to live in a world of darkness. And, perhaps more importantly, the sharing of truth can help others.
