Some dream topics I’d especially like to publish work about: - Memoirs and other writing by elders, especially but not exclusively 2SLGBTQ+ and/or disabled elders and people with histories of resistance, organizing, and activism. - Reprints and anthologies of older zines, esp centering around queerness, transness, disability, fat liberation, anti-racism, and organizing. - Friendship & how to place it closer to the centre of life. What it looks like to plan deeply and intertwine lives with your friends. - Reflections on communal & non-normative living arrangements like communes, cohousing, co-ops, land projects, punk houses, squats, etc, other non-Eurocentric and/or non-heteronormative ways of setting up a home and a life. - Special Topics In Organizing + Counterculture: 1960s/70s radical leftist bank robberies, informants in social movements, cross-movement solidarity work - Food, especially autobiographical, political, or reflective writing centring on food and eating and their place in life, especially in connection with any of the other topics on this list. - Survival and preparedness from an anti-individualist, anti-ableist perspective - Complicated and messy perspectives on disability, body difference, fatness, Madness, plurality, sickness, etc - Death & end of life care & planning - Experiences of incarceration and other forms of institutionalization - Quakerism!

i am not immune to the lure of a Hot Deal but the fact is, i do not build a huge margin into the prices, and already sell things on sliding scale, so i can't really do sales. however zines remain available for purchase.

If you like a writer's work, tell them! Email, LinkedIn message, DM, even in person at an event. It can make a huge difference in their lives, especially right now with declining freelance budgets, layoffs, stagnant salaries, the threat of AI, and dwindling book advances.

As a bookstore that sells pamphlets and magazines, the criminalization of such materials feels pretty close to home. So let's take a closer look at the materials the federal government is claiming tie readers to "antifa terrorism." We can pick out six titles in these grainy photos. 1/

For this booklet we reached out to book stores and distributors that we have worked with—in some cases for just a couple years, and in others for almost the entire time that we’ve been making and selling booklets and books. We sent everyone this description of the publication we wanted to produce: Artist publishing is thriving. As printing continues to become more accessible, and subjects like zine-making become part of college and high school curricula, the number of self-publishers is exploding. There are an ever-increasing number of art book fairs, zine fests and events for self-publishers, but distribution of the countless titles people produce remains a challenge as the number of participants in the field surges. Many people that work in bookstores that carry artists’ books and zines are also publishers themselves. We invited some of the booksellers we work with to reflect on the state of self-publishing as they experience it at the stores they work in, manage, or own. What insights can they share about the state of self-publishing? What advice can bookstores offer to self-publishers? How can artist publishers and bookstores work together in mutually supportive ways? What approaches are working and where are there weaknesses in the publisher and distributor relationship? This collection provides a detailed and generous array of observations, stories, and advice. We hope it is valuable to anyone that is interested in publishing, and wants their work to be in stores and other spaces for books. There are so many other great shops we couldn’t include; readers should talk to them too.

Clipart Crypt is an extremely indulgent fanzine celebrating clipart, featuring interviews with clipart experts and aficionados (such as @kwooten.bsky.social on feminist clipart), and collages of the strangest and most beautiful vintage clipart I could find.
