Yep, “modern” history, though I chose a kind of ‘16th century history through its literature’ module as a special subject paper and also did loads of drama/comedy. Back in the day you could only do English at Q as joint honours. Think we had one person in our year.

It's definitely Noggin et al country. I think one of Peter Firmin's daughters had a shop there? The Experience thing is suprisingly good (naturally, grumpy old dad was not sure about it but I was proved wrong). Bookshop is fabulous. Bought a lovely Walter de la Mare collection for my mum years ago.

Chaucer secondhand bookshop is excellent. When our boys were small they really enjoyed The Canterbury Tales Experience (or whatever it's called).

Looks tremendous. You couldn't even really study English at Queen's in my day!

That looks marvellous! Planning to do something involving a Christmas pudding this year.

We did this recently with Shogun. 10 episodes. Took us months.

There is no Scottish village called Brigadoon, but there is a bridge called Brig o' Doon in Ayrshire, also famous for featuring in Tam o'Shanter by Robert Burns. Makes you think, eh?
