My observation, the grannies are more progressive than their kids ever realise. On our last election here in australia, the greens stalls where always manned by little old ladies with pride scarves. Im guessing a lot of them are elderly lesbians, but then theres my ma whos quite hetro and a comrade

The problem really is the Supreme court. The laws are actually fairly straight forward. 3/4 of what he's doing is blatantly illegal, but this supreme court has completely stripped the legal fraternity of any mechanism to enforce the constitution. Its hard to not read this as sinister and deliberate.

This is blatantly a first ammendment violation. Even if Antifa was a real org and somehow 'domestic terrorist organization' was a real designation, you could literally be selling a book called "Why you should join ISIS" and that is 100% protected speech (as long as your not funding ISIS with it)

He's not "in" science, nor is he "leading" it. He's fronting a full scale assault *against* it, and by extension against humanity itself, because his efforts are already leading to mass casualties.

Like a statement against the postcolonial dominance of european derived culture in white societies. Hence while on one hand its modest, its also paradoxically transgressive. And its that transgression against the boundary of the dialectic that creates an excess of meaning.

Hence Burquas in Afghanistan, and Muslims in parts of Indonesia with no head covering at all. Both compliant with the local rules of modesty. Now of course you DO see women in the west with a Hijab, but culture and nation are not the same thing and the hijab in the west is somewhat of a statement

The whole thing reminds me of an explanation a muslim friend gave me about hajibs and the lack thereof. The Quran does not actually explicitely have anything about them. What it DOES say is men and women should be "modest". So this sort of dress is the cultural definition of modest.

Whatever the case, theres absolutely no circumstance where a grown ass middle age man having sex with a 15 you not a serious sexual assault, in any juristiction. The difference between the 15yo and 8yo is one will get you a decade or so in prison, the other is hard life.

Its also factually untrue. Depending on the juristiction, theres usually a charge for raping a minor and a more serious charge of raping a minor under 12 (or 13 , it depends on the country or state). Then theres generally sentencing guidelines that take circumstantial issues into acct.

Our experience, and resources, and their drive and availability, its a hell of a combo, if we can get it to work.

Its also why we gotta support the young people who take the lead in these things. This sort of stuff will tend towards young people, because they tend to have lesser commitments, more energy, and more flexible thinking. Thus older folks need to be asking "How do we support the youngsters?".

The problem is. like all billionares, he's sitting on a tonne of resources and capabilities, and if the billionare class wont do the right thing and delete themselves, then the least they could do is free up some of those resources to solving climate change.
