The Sustainable Jobs Act mandates multiple measures for the federal government to advance supports for workers and communities in the transition to a net-zero economy.
Youth are facing uncertainty amidst increased rates of unemployment, costs of living, and intensity and frequency of extreme weather events. Addressing these concerns will require coordination between workforce supports and a transition to non/low-emitting industries and technologies.

Ensuring that the plans coming out of the Sustainable Jobs Act are climate-aligned and community-serving is crucial to keeping so-called Canada on-track with its net-zero commitments.
With this upcoming deadline, communities across so-called Canada need to be engaged to ensure the Plan reflects diverse needs, including those of workers, Indigenous communities, and regions most affected by the energy transition.
